The name of Toppei Koshirae is derived from the unique Saya end shape,
reinforced with the big metal ornament, that resembles the Kabuto armor's
Toppai. In order for the late Tokugawa Shogunate to adapt the western style
of military training, the overall shape of Japanese sword has been slightly
modified and it has become the Toppei Koshirae. Like Tensho Koshirae, the
Toppei Koshirae is considered to be the most practical and simple sword
in Japanese sword history. This version features a set of copper Fuchi/Kashira
and a big O-jiri. The cotton Tsuka is securely wrapped over the genuine
sharkskin.
Weighes approximately 880 gram without the Saya.
Each Iaito sword from Nishijin Sword features a flex resistant and well-balanced
blade made of zinc/belylium alloy, which, as the result, can provides the
breathtaking feeling as much as you could get with the Shinken practice.
Proudly hand-crafted by Japanese swordsmiths in Japan. Because each of
your order is made to order, please allow three to four weeks for the production.
Nishijin Sword Price: $378.00
